Our hospice program. We work with local shelters and animal controls to give a final resting place for dogs that have been failed by their humans in their last days. We give them love and kindness and vet care. These are some of the sweet souls that are laid to rest here.
Sweet Josie Dog

December 2010 while visiting friends in Arkansas, I hit this poor dog along the interstate. She was in bad shape before I found her. She was a skeleton, just had puppies, but where they were I don't know. She had a serious spine/disc issue and after an emergency spay and surgery on an old wound as well as being heartworm Positive. We were hoping she'd be with us for many years, but that was not to be. In Mid-January after a long day at the University of Illinois aggressive cancer was found through out. She is now at Rainbow Bridge. She had the biggest heart and knew love, a warm bed and great meals at the end of her hard life. Her name was Josie and was my Arkansas Traveling Hound. Dogs like her are what made us want to do more hospice and sanctuary for old and sick dogs. Below are many of the sweet dogs that spent their final days with us, much loved and cuddled. We will see them at Rainbow Bridge - and what a celebration it will be!
